Lights out for the 'Landy': British Army to retire iconic Land Rover fleet
The Ministry of Defence announced on 20 March 2026 that the Army had begun retiring its Land Rover fleet. A Light Mobility Vehicle programme is planned to deliver the successor, with formal launch to follow and the first new vehicles expected from 2030. No supplier award was confirmed in this announcement.
